FIT Contingency Plan in Regards to Upcoming Potential ILA Strike
Please see below the Contingency plan for Florida International Terminal(FIT)
Vessel Operations: FIT will cease any vessel operations at 1800 on Monday, the 30th. All vessels must depart at that time.
Refrigerated Cargo: FIT will not be liable for any live reefer containers remaining at the terminal during a labor disruption. FIT strongly recommends picking up all live reefers before 1600 hours on the 30th. Remaining reefers will be plugged in but not monitored.
Export Cargo: FIT will not be accepting any export cargo for vessels scheduled for the week of October 1st.
Gate Operation: FIT will continue to operate the gate seven days a week. Please note that the cut-off time for Saturday and Sunday gate operations is 1400.
Demurrage: Containers in free time at time of labor disruption will stay in free time until the terminal is open again for deliveries. Containers that are already in demurrage will remain in demurrage.
In the event of a work stoppage, all operations — including gate, vessel, and yard activities — will be halted. During this period, access to containers and equipment will be unavailable. We will communicate all updates as necessary. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Delta Trucking Services will continue to work at the best of our ability to do business in this time respecting the picket line if the occasion calls for it
